Kuala Lumpur, Dec 22
To end off the year, we planned a short 5-day trip to Kuala Lumpur, and this would be Daniel’s second time on an airplane. Now that he is much older, he is better able to appreciate the entire experience himself too.
I also got a used point-and-shoot camera, Fuji X100, to document this trip too. So 90% of it are from the trusty camera while some were taken on our phones.
Flight time
Zoo Negara
Zoo Negara was such a delightful experience for us. The animals are not like the ones in Singapore Zoo.
Animals in the Singapore Zoo seems sleepy, tired, and if we want to catch the pandas, we will always miss the timing cos it was just too short.
But here in Zoo Negara, the lions were roaring for the whole zoo to hear; tigers showing off their aquatic skills; the bulls grunting as they ate; elephants showing their multi-tusking skills by eating two mangos at once, and lastly, THE PANDAS WERE SLEEPING IN THE OPEN FOR US TO APPRECIATE while showing us their nice little butts.
The Best Nasi Lemak
I kid you not, I feel that the shop’s ambience, the sambal, the crispy chicken wings, the rice were so on point that I am already craving for their food again as I am writing this.
KLCC Aquaria & Farm in the City
Honestly, the KLCC Aquaria was a mix bag for us. The stuffy atmosphere due to the air-con breakdown and huge crowd was balanced with a wonderful walk through the “sea-tunnel.” I am not sure what it is called, the little tunnel with transparent glass ceiling in a huge tank filled with fishes. I personally felt that there was a higher ratio of fishes to human beings walking through (lol) and the walk itself is considerably longer than SEA Aquarium, both of which made the visit well worth it.
Farm in the City was a no-brainer. We love bringing Daniel out to the nature or to see animals. Being able to interact up close with many different animal species was a clear must-go for us. Initially, we were afraid that it would be too hot as the cloudy skies of the past few days have cleared up and we arrived close to noon time. But we were pleasantly surprised to find the entire area well shaded with trees and huge canopy.
The Other Fun Bits
And as for the last gallery, here are some of the category-less but equally memorable moments of the trip too.
This was our first KL trip as a family, and we will surely visit this city again. There is so much more to explore like Batu Cave …. and the monkeys Mama tries to avoid at all cost love.
